Primary Responsibilities
As a Medical Writer, you will support the execution of day-to-day tasks and contribute to the development of scientific and medical projects, while expanding your understanding of different therapeutic areas and products, the pharmaceutical industry, and agency business practices. In partnership with senior team members, you will integrate medical writing with strategic thinking and foundational client service skills to produce high-quality deliverables.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Medical Writing and Strategic Support Develop medical content with support from senior team members Conduct research and reference checks to ensure exemplary scientific accuracy
  • Respond to shifts in client direction with clarity and agility
  • Collaborate with project leads to evaluate materials through a scientific and strategic lens to maintain continuity across branded and unbranded materials
  • Partner with senior cross-functional leads to interpret business priorities and participate in crafting strategic recommendations
  • Client Service and Engagement Act as a service-oriented client contact with strong medical capabilities.
  • Learn how to clearly communicate with the appropriate client peers
  • Understand the client's business, brands, and organizational structure
  • Professional Development Be proactive + develop solutions within your discipline
  • Learn the role of Senior Medical Writer for advancement

This position offers competitive pay with benefits based on experience and qualifications. The salary range for this role is $80,000–$90,000 per year The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at Coefficient Health. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at Coefficient Health, and we encourage you to apply if this range falls outside of your expectations.

Desired Skills + Experience
  • We seek highly motivated individuals with a track record of success who bring curiosity, determination, and creativity to our work.
You should have:
  • Education: A graduate university degree (i.e., MS or PhD) in a relevant discipline is required.
  • Agency Experience: 0–2 years in medical or scientific communications in a healthcare/pharma advertising, marketing, training, medical affairs, publications, or similar setting.
  • Writing Competency: Familiarity with writing for different audiences while maintaining a high level of scientific rigor and accuracy.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Self-Starter and Collaborator:
  • Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams.
Location & Travel: Proximity to our NYC office would be a plus; remote applicants are advised that business-related travel may be required as needed, approximately once per quarter.
