Job Description

Hithium Tech USA has a new manufacturing facility in the Mesquite/Forney area, and we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team. This is a specialized position, and our ideal applicant has considerable experience and education in engineering, robotics, and production automation. The Network Engineer is critical to supporting our manufacturing operations, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performance network infrastructure across the plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cisco networking, be hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot and optimize network systems in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Cisco-based LAN/WAN infrastructure across manufacturing operations.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance to ensure high availability and security.
  • Support OT (Operational Technology) and IT network segmentation to maintain compliance and uptime in manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with production and automation teams to integrate networking solutions into manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Perform regular network health checks, capacity planning, and upgrades.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated network-related incidents with minimal downtime.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
  • Assist in audits and compliance efforts related to ISO, NIST, or other standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional networking experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless).
  • Manufacturing environment experience is required – must understand the unique demands of factory/industrial networks.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (required). Additional certifications (e.g., CCNP, Cisco Wireless, Cisco Security) strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS).
  • Proven ability to manage and troubleshoot complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks.
  • Strong knowledge of network security practices, firewalls, and access controls.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite with cross-functional teams— no remote option .
