Counseling In Schools is looking for a School Wholeness Coordinator to work at a Brooklyn High School (1 full time position) and a Brooklyn elementary school (1 full time position). Under the direction of the Community School Director, the School Wholeness Coordinator is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of strategic initiatives, programs, and activities related to student wholeness, social and emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices (RP), Chronic Absenteeism, and other community schools oriented approaches, such as trauma-informed practices, and grounding the work in an equity frame. The School Wholeness Coordinator is also responsible for managing a small caseload and facilitating groups. The School Wholeness Coordinator will have a particular focus on supporting the development and implementation of strategies and resources that support schools to build a strong culture and climate, with an emphasis on creating safe, welcoming, and joyful learning environments; establishing clear and consistent expectations and systems to support student behavior and positive reinforcement; nurturing relationship- and community-building; ensuring that the school has a tiered system of supports in place to support students' healthy development and well-being; and creating a culture and approaches to teaching and learning that elevate student voice and leadership. The School Wholeness Coordinator is responsible for developing strong partnerships with schools, families, community-based organizations, other offices (OCS & OSH), technical service providers, and others supporting the work. The Coordinator is also responsible for keeping data-gathering and analysis, monitoring program quality, and reporting.
