Junior Achievement of Miami has partnered with Hueman to find a Senior Director of Philanthropy to join their team in Miami, FL. 

Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Senior Director of Philanthropy to lead and expand our development efforts. This senior leader will bring a strong background in sales methodology and apply it effectively to the world of philanthropy—understanding that timing, relationship management, and closing strategies are critical to success. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with high-net-worth individuals, making direct asks, and securing six- and seven-figure gifts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment and is passionate about driving year-over-year fundraising growth

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy with a strong focus on year-over-year revenue growth.
• Lead efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
• Personally manage a portfolio of high-net-worth prospects and donors, with a focus on securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Be focused, prepared and confident in making direct asks and closing transformational gifts.
2. Sales-Cycle Approach to Fundraising
• Apply a structured sales methodology to the donor journey—from prospecting and qualification to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Leverage donor research, wealth screening, and data analytics to inform strategy and personalize outreach.
• Maintain a robust pipeline of prospects and track progress toward ambitious fundraising goals.
3. Leadership & Collaboration
• Lead and mentor a development team, fostering a culture of accountability, results and excellence.
• Collaborate with the CEO, Board of Directors, and program staff to align fundraising with organizational priorities.
• Serve as a key ambassador for the organization at events, meetings, and in the community.
4. Data & Reporting
• Oversee CRM/database management to ensure accurate donor records and reporting.
• Analyze fundraising performance and provide regular reports to leadership and the board.
• Use insights to refine strategies and improve donor engagement and retention.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 10 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and leading successful campaigns.
2. Demonstrated success in soliciting and closing high-level gifts, including six- and seven-figure contributions.
3. Strong understanding of the sales cycle and how it applies to donor engagement and fundraising.
4. Proficiency in donor research, data analytics, and CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft D365, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge).
5. Confident with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
6. Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and deliver measurable results.
7. Passion for the mission and values of the organization.
